Hi! Thank you for visiting our webpage! We are two city-folk that have decided to cast away the ho-hum suburban life for a small town atmosphere in Paw Paw, Illinois. We purchased an 1890's Victorian home in August of 2002, and have become addicted to remodeling it. Now, coming from newer homes we are by no means professionals, but we try our best to make the home look as it did over a hundred years ago with modern convieniences. Karl and I have done all of the work ourselves, which is no small feat with two small children. We make every attempt with using materials to recreate the original construction to preserve the character of the house.
A little about us, Karl is a State Farm agent in Dekalb, Illinois. I work with him, and we work very well together. We have two children, Kern, our son, born 10/26/2000, and Alexandra, our daughter, born 4/10/2003. Karl's hobbies include: beer making, woodworking, and WWII history. My hobbies are gardening, conservative politics, sewing, Victorian history, and reading the classics. Kern loves Spiderman and James Bond, and Cupcake enjoys My Little Ponies, along with anything pink!.
Please enjoy the site, we have put an awful amount of work into this home, and we hope you check back often. We are constantly doing new things to it, and I update the photos constantly.
